This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Bird Bam Mahjong mobile application (the "App") and our website, birdbam.app (the "Site").

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:
-Account information: email address, display name, and an optional profile photo when you create an account
-Optional profile details, such as your city, that you choose to add
-Content you submit in the App, including messages, club activity, event RSVPs, and questions or game inputs you send to Bammie, our AI mahjong coach
-Communications you send us, such as support requests

Information collected automatically:
-Usage information, such as features used, games played, practice sessions, and interactions within the App
-Device information, such as device type, operating system, and app version
-On the Site, standard analytics data (pages visited, approximate location, referral source) collected via Google Analytics

Information from third parties:
-Subscription and purchase status from Apple's App Store or Google Play, processed through RevenueCat (we do not receive or store your payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google)

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
-Create and manage your account
-Provide App features, including games, practice modes, clubs, and events
-Provide AI coaching: when you interact with Bammie, your inputs (such as your questions and tile information) are processed by our AI service provider to generate responses
-Manage your subscription, free trial, and feature access
-Send push notifications you've enabled, such as game invites, turn reminders, and daily practice content (you can manage these in the App's settings)
-Send transactional and, with your consent, marketing emails
-Improve the App, fix bugs, and understand how features are used
-Comply with legal obligations

AI Features
Bird Bam includes AI-powered coaching features (collectively, "Bammie"). When you use these features, the content you submit is sent to Anthropic, our AI service provider, to generate a response. We do not use your Bammie conversations to train AI models. Please don't include sensitive personal information in your interactions with Bammie.

Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the App and Site:
-Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, and app infrastructure
-Anthropic — AI processing for Bammie coaching features
-RevenueCat — subscription management
-Apple / Google — payment processing for subscriptions
-Google Analytics — website analytics

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information until updated).

Community Features
Your display name, profile photo, and activity in shared spaces (such as clubs, games, and events) are visible
to other users who participate in those spaces. Please use judgment about what you share in community areas.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below or using the in-app account deletion option. We will delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of marketing communications. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including the security features of our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date, and for material changes we will provide notice in the App or by email.
